AMBER ALERT

The Sheridan Police Department is investigating the abduction of a child from Sheridan, Indiana.

Madison Lloyd is a 17-year-old white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 187 lbs., brown medium length hair, and blue eyes.  The type of clothing she was wearing is not known.

The child was last seen at 1 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 in Sheridan, Indiana and is believed to be in extreme danger.  Sheridan is 36 miles north of Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Sheridan Police Department believes the child was abducted by Dustin Fisher, a 20-year-old white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 187 lbs., with brown hair.

Suspect vehicle is a tan 1997 Chevy, Blazer, with Indiana plate number XPZ251.

Flash flood warning in effect for our area

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for counties in our area including Western Bartholomew, Northwestern Jackson, southern Shelby and Brown counties until 5:15 p.m.
 
Other affected counties include southern Monroe, Southeastern Greene, Martin, Northeastern Daviess and Lawrence counties.
At 2:17 p.m., heavy rain was falling across the area. One to two inches of rain has already fallen and FLASH FLOODING is expected to begin shortly.
The warning affects cities and towns including Blooomington, Columbus, Nashville, Edinburgh, Flat Rock, Clifford, Freetown and Taylorsville. This includes Interstate 65 between mile markers 65 and 83.
 
The weather service warns that if you encounter high water on the road turn around and don’t drown. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
 
Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Southbound I-65 to close in Bartholomew County

Southbound I-65 at the 61 mile marker in Bartholomew County is down to one lane after a crash involving a semi. The Sheriff’s Department says that both lanes will be shut down around 10 p.m., and traffic rerouted, until scene is cleaned up. There is no word on when the clean-up might be finished.

Trump VP announcement delayed after France terror attack

Likely Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump says he’s postponing his scheduled announcement of his vice presidential pick tomorrow due to Thursday’s terrorist attack in France.

The announcement, which was expected to name Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as Trump’s running-mate, was scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday in New York City. Trump’s campaign did not specify when the announcement would take place.

Gov. Pence is facing a deadline of noon on Friday to have his name taken off of the ballot in the Indiana Governor’s race.
