Driver caught after Interstate 65 chase through area

Indiana State Police captured a man fleeing down Interstate 65 at more than 140 mph through southern Indiana in a car allegedly stolen in Indianapolis.

Troopers were alerted by the Indianapolis police department at about 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon that the sedan, reported stolen from an Indy car lot, was heading toward Seymour on Interstate 65. Troopers from the Versailles an

d Sellersburg posts found the vehicle at an Austin gas station and the driver took off, back down the interstate at high speeds The driver also struck another vehicle causing minor damage, as he tried to get away.

The driver avoided five sets of stop sticks. In Clark County, troopers, other officers and a good Samaritan’s box truck trapped the car and forced it to stop.

30-year-old Marty S. Clark is facing charges of possession of a stolen vehicle; resisting police by fleeing in a vehicle; leaving the scene of a property damage crash and reckless driving.

Troopers say that Clark allegedly took the vehicle so he could get to Florida.
