City settles with former Commons restaurant owners

Columbus officials have reached a settlement with the owners of the former Jordy McTaggart’s restaurant in the Commons that will let the city recoup most of the money it is owed.

The city’s Redevelopment Commission yesterday approved a settlement with the former restaurant’s owners, agreeing to accept $48,000 of about $55,000 dollars the city says it was owed in back rent, taxes and other expenses.

Stan Gamso, attorney for the Redevelopment Commision says that the Jordy’s owners also agreed to help the city find new tenants, and those efforts led to the new Luciana’s restaurant going into that space in the city-owned building.

Gamso explained other benefits than the city recieved, above juist receiving most of the money it was owed
