Rhodes, Hasler chosen for Lilly Endowment scholarships

Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County has announced the winners of this year’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships.

Columbus East High School’s Madelyn Rhodes and Hauser Junior-Senior High School senior Grace Hasler were chosen out of 86 applicants for the two scholarships.

Rhodes is the daughter of Michelle Templin and Hasler is the daughter of Michael and Dena Hasler.

The scholarships covers full tuition for four years to the Indiana college of the student’s choice as well as a $900 stipend for required books and equipment.

Rhodes plans to study human biology.while Hasler plans to study agricultural sales and marketing/agricultural education.

Other finalists for the scholarships were:

  • David Phan, Natalie Glaid and Reagan Perkins from Columbus East High School
  • Blake Shaffer from Columbus North High School
  • Alyssa Knight from Columbus Signature Academy – New Tech
  • Sydney Schoen and Sarah Tedder from Hauser High School
  • Abigail Moses from Trinity Lutheran High School.
