Two conservation officers recognized for service

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is recognizing two conservation officers working in our area who recently passed 20 years of service.

Officer Jay Noble has been serving in Bartholomew County since 1998. He began his career in 1995 and was first assigned to the newly acquired Fort Harrison State Park. Noble is a certified public safety diver, side-scan sonar operator, and applicant background investigator.

Officer Ted Stine also began his career in 1995 at Fort Harrison State Park. He transferred to Shelby County in 1998 where he still serves.

Conservation officers are sworn police officers in Indiana, but they primarily provide law enforcement and education in the areas of hunting, fishing, boating, and off-road vehicle operation.

Other winners include “The Surface” for best narrative; “Stray Dog” as best documentary and “Grange to Garage” won for best short film.

Doup says that  four winning films will be screened this evening, two each on two screens. The first pair, “Stray Dog” and “Lion Ark” begins at 6:01 p.m. and the second pair, “The Surface” and “Grange to Garage” begin at 6:30 p.m.

Yes Cinema is located at 328 Jackson St.
